Will you consign
everything that you are offered?

Not everything
will be consigned. However, every watch will be given equal consideration when
consulted with our in-house specialists at Watch Farm. We accept a wide range
of time pieces, and while our particular focus is on independent watchmakers
and high-end brands, above all we look for quality within a piece. If you
believe you have a timepiece that is of interest to us, please get in touch and
we will be delighted to assess it.

How long would it take to sell my watch?

Depending on the watch, the time taken to sell a watch can depend
on a wide range of variables. The average sale time for a watch to sell is
around 15-30 days and thanks to our established credibility and network, the
turnaround time for a watch can often be faster than expected.

We take a
data-driven approach to our valuations, relying on a wide range of benchmarks
in addition to current market dynamics. We also make use of historical data,
the age and condition of the timepiece.

What information do I
need to provide to Watch Farm?

When you
submit a watch for consideration, our team will ask for key details of your
watch such as Maker, Model, Year, Condition and History. Once our
team has gone through the initial assessment with you, our team will make
arrangements with you to gather further information from you.

How much detail do you
need about the history and condition of my watch?

We aim to ensure our listings are the most detailed and accurate
to give your watch the correct and best representation. For this reason, please
tell us as much as possible about your watch, including any flaws or faults.

Whilst
we uphold the highest of standards in authenticating each time piece Watch Farm
is representing, Watch Farm shall not be liable to
the seller or the buyer for any error or misstatement in, or omission from the
description of any Auction Lot.

Can I set a minimum
selling price for my watch?

Sellers can request that a lot is auctioned with a reserve. The
value of any reserve is agreed in consultation with the Watch Farm in-house
specialists team to ensure it is realistic with current market values. Once a
reserve is agreed with Watch Farm, you may reduce it or withdraw it by written
notice to Watch Farm.

Do I get to approve the
auction listing before it goes live?

Every listing
is presented to the seller for approval before it goes live and a Listing
Agreement is to be signed with the seller. It is the seller’s responsibility to
ensure that the listing is an accurate description of the auction lot. The
proposed start date for the auction will be discussed after your watch has been
assessed.

Once you have
submitted your auction lot to Watch Farm and the auction has gone live, you
cannot withdraw your watch. If you do withdraw your watch, you will be obliged
to pay the fees to Watch Farm in accordance with our Terms and Conditions that
would have been paid by the Buyer, calculated on the last reserve you agreed
with Watch Farm.

What happens at the end
of the auction if the auction lot sells?

When an
auction lot sells successfully on Watch Farm, a 5% buyer’s premium is
automatically deducted from the winning bidder’s credit card. This is a fee for
using the platform and not a down payment on the auction lot. We will then
reach out to the buyer to make payment of the final outstanding balance which
will be the final hammer or sale price. 

What happens if there
are no bids above my reserve price?

If the auction lot fails to meet its reserve price, then the
seller will be notified of the highest bid submitted during the auction. The
seller will then have 24 hours from the end of the auction to either accept or
reject this bid. 

If the highest bid after the auction is rejected by the seller,
then we will offer the seller the option of listing the auction lot in our ‘Private
Sales’ section. This allows the possibility of a post-auction deal.

Since auctions
are a medium that typically motivates bidders to determine the ultimate sale
price, we often recommend that watches are put up for auction have striking
qualities that help to appeal to collectors and make the timepiece more
desirable as a whole.

What is the ‘Private
Sales’ option?

Watch Farm
offers it’s clients the opportunity to sell their watch through our private
sales as well as auction. In this section, the watch can be purchased for the
price listed or potential buyers can make a ‘offer’. Sellers can choose to
accept or counter until a price is agreed. 

How much does it cost to
register as a member with Watch Farm?

It’s free to
register as a member with Watch Farm. Once registered, you are able to buy and
sell on Watch Farm.

How much does it cost to buy an auction
lot on Watch Farm?

Our fee structure is simple. We charge a low fixed
5% Buyers Premium on the hammer price.

How do I know whether
the auction lot has a reserve price?

Unless being
sold at ‘No Reserve’, all auction lots have a reserve.

Can other bidders
'snipe' at the end of an auction to outbid me?

The Watch Farm
platform prevents any sniping by automatically adding two minutes to the
auction if any bids are received within the last two minutes. Once there are no
further bids within a two-minute window, the auction will end.

Once a bid has
been placed, you cannot withdraw it. If you as the successful Buyer fail to
complete the purchase of an auction for any reason other than the default of
the Seller, you will be obliged to pay the 5% buyer’s premium. So please think
and read properly before you bid.

of the auction if I have won the bidding?

What happens at the end of the auction if I have won the
bidding? When an auction lot sells successfully on Watch Farm, a 5% buyer’s premium
is automatically deducted from your credit card. This is a fee for using the
platform and not a down payment on the auction lot. Our team will then connect
with you to arrange payment and settlement of the balance of the watch you have
won at auction and discuss delivery option’s with you.

There are NO refunds on the buyer’s premium.

Can I follow up with Watch
Farm after the auction ends if it failed to meet reserve and I am still
interested?

If the auction
lot fails to meet its reserve price, we offer sellers the option of listing the
watch in our ‘Private Sales’ section. This allows the possibility of a
post-auction deal.

What happens if after auction,
I am not happy with my purchase?

Watch Farm hosts
auction listings, but the seller is responsible for confirming the accuracy of
the listing. As a bidder, it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself of the
details and condition of the auction lot before placing a bid.

Can I see a watch in
person before bidding on it?

Absolutely. At
Watch Farm, we are fully transparent and welcome and encourage buyers to come
and see the watch in person at our showroom before bidding on it. If you see a
watch you would like to bid on, please reach out to us by telephone or email
and we can arrange an inspection for you. 

How do I know the watch
is genuine and authentic?

We would love
to talk to you about any watch you are looking to purchase. With our wide
network and industry knowledge, we may be able to help so please do call or
email us and our team would love to assist with your requirements. 

Can Watch Farm source a
specific watch for me?

Every watch
listed on Watch Farm has been vetted by our in-house specialists and renowned
watch experts. All watches will have gone through our rigorous vetting
procedures in line with our in-house high standards. 

As with our
mother company, our finance partners offer finance for classic cars. Our finance
partners can offer financing on watches. Please reach out to our team to learn

Does the buyer's premium
include postage?

The buyer’s
premium is a fee for using the Watch Farm platform. Watch Farm is not
responsible for the postage or insurance of any auction lots. All costs
associated shipping and insurance is with the responsibility of the buyer. Delivery
is free in Hong Kong. If buying from overseas, delivery will depend on the
value of the timepiece and the destination. 

Buying watches from a
different country

Watch Farm is
not responsible for any fees, taxes, or duty payable to import a watch. Buyers
should familiarise themselves with any charges or restriction relevant to their
country before placing a bid.
